This is a film I made for my ego (nafs), which is arrogant, lazy, impatient, passive, pessimistic, hypocritical, addicted to praise, and worships this world. The film draws much inspiration from the Qur’an and the two tafsirs (commentary on the Quran): Risale-i Nur (Treatises of Light) by Said Nursi and Ihiya ulum ad-din (The Revival of the Religious Sciences) by Al-Ghazali. 

 

Things my ego would hate to hear was an official selection at the Mosquers Film Festival 2018 and Muslim Film Festival (2019) in Perth and Melbourne.
